More than ever we need to be looking after our mental health. With 1 in 4 adults experiencing a mental health problem each year according to Mind. The coronavirus lockdown will only impact this further.

Balancing working from home, home-schooling and staying indoors for long periods of time can be tough. Mental health is as important as physical health. So, if you're feeling low, stressed or anxious it is always good to talk.

With this week being Mental Health Awareness week, we thought we would look at what our protection providers include with their polices in terms of mental health support facilities. We've highlighted some of these below:

SmartHealth - One of the six features with AIG's SmartHealth is Mental Health Support. Access via app, phone or website - a dedicated support team are there to help you and your family (including children up to age 21) with the right support strategy and treatment.

Aviva's Counselling & Carer Support Service provides:

  • Face to face or telephone based service for you and your immediate family
  • Lines are open 24 hours a day, every day, giving you the option to call day or night 365 days a year.

The Exeter

The Exeter's HealthWise gives you access to fully trained specialists who can assess and treat a range of mental health conditions including anxiety, depression & substance abuse, as well as offering emotional and behavioural support. The service is provided by video consultation with therapists via the app (up to 6 consultations each year).

Holloway Friendly, Royal London and Scottish Widows
